Description

This 1/2 bison hide painted by Evans Flammond features a tipi and a horse.  Reminiscent of the traditional Lakota Winter Count, this painting captures the traditional way of life for the Lakota people.

Evans Flammond Sr is Sicangu Lakota and an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe who lives with his family on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

He draws from the past but with a modern twist, using vibrant colors and detailed designs.

Although well known for his ledger art, Flammond is in reality a very versatile artist. His mediums include murals, hide painting, metal work, leather work, sculpture, weaponry replicas, and ceremonial pieces.

Today Evans’ art is highly collected and internationally recognized and can be seen in art galleries, museums and private collections all over the world.
